Culture and arts hold a predominant space in the life and
development oh this beautiful port, due to which it has
widely recommended places such as “Espacio Cultural
Metropolitano” where you can enjoy shows and festivals
of international standing; there is an exhibition over 3,000
archeological pieces in the “Museo de la Cultura Huasteca”,
you can notice the vestiges of this important prehispanic
culture through a visit of it’s 12 rooms; for those
motoring lovers, you will be able to visit the Car Museum
to know automobile history and evolution and also see
the 52 collection pieces from different makes and models
that are in exposition within this interesting museum. In
the “Casa de la Cultura”, as well as notice its beautiful architectural
line from this wonderful construction, you can
enjoy the temporal expos that are in the galleries; also
you will be able to know the history, origins and evolution
of Tampico in the “Hemeroteca y Archivo Historico de la
Ciudad” (City’s Newspaper library and Historic Archives)

Miramar
MALECON
Located at south of Miramar Beach
is also known as “Las Escolleras”, it
delimits the union between the
Gulf of Mexico and Panuco River,
at the end of the Malecon it is the
famous lighthouse. From the Malecon
you will be able to see the
entrance and exit of shrimp boats
and ships, as well as the beautiful
show of “toninas”, the fishermen
and divers.
PANUCO RIVER
The extensive
flow of “Panuco
River” crosses
Tampico and Cd.
Madero to unite it with the Gulf of Mexico, serving as a frontier between
the state of Tamaulipas and Veracruz. In its margins could be
seen the majestic building of the Sea Customs and the Navy shipyards,
which could be better appreciated making a trip by ship and
that represents an interesting tourist experience.
CHAIREL LAGOON
The wonderful Chairel Lagoon is a water table of big importance for
the beautiful port of Tampico, because besides being the main provider
of water that is safe for human consumption in the metropolitan
zone. In its calm waters you will be able to enjoy a wide variety of
aquatic sports, such as water-ski and jet-ski, sport fishing and canoeing.
In its shore is located the “Club de Regatas Corona”, which has
comfortable facilities to spend a pleasant and peaceful day in touch

OLD CUSTOMS OFFICE
This majestic building was built between the rivers Panuco and Tamesis,
was inaugurated in 1902 by Don Porfirio Diaz; of old English style, its forge
was imported from France and the wood from Louisina, USA. Until these
days it keeps its original style, moreover, being one of the most important
customs in the ountry, that represents a pride for all of the people of
Tampico. |

METROPOLITAN PARK
The Metropolitan Park is located at the edges of the “Laguna del Carptintero”
which is communicated with Panuco river trough the “Canal de la Cortadura”.
This beautiful park has a coffee shop, palapas, gardens, playground and a dock for the boats. Also you can enjoy a guided
tour to Tampico Historic town Centre. Here you can go to a viewpoint from which you can see some crocodiles that inhabit some
parts in the lagoon. In the “Laguna del Carpintero” take place international aquatic events such as the “Nauticopa” and the Champ
Boat Grand Prix. |
