TAMPICO

Neither authors nor historians have been able to agree on Tampico's real meaning: Place of sea dogs, or place of otters.

Local historians have assumed that in ancient times, old habitants used to pronounce Tampeck, and then this would be transformed into Tan-Piceh and Tampiquetl; so eventually the word Tampico would be born.

The relationship between "pik" which is dogs for huastec, and peck which is dogs for mayan; it seems to be clear that Tampico comes from Huasteco's Tam which is place, and pik which is dog.

The port of Tampico is the most important commercial city in the Tamaulipas state; it grows quickly and it's also called to be one of the first class cities in Mexico.

Southern Tamaulipas is an area that encourages excitement and other emotions.

You just need to let carry away from it.

Tampico is an image built in your memory that is alive; enjoy its beauty calmly, walk by its streets, discover its tradition charm that lives in it, its costumes and the happiness from its party.

Because Tampico shows itself transparent, radiant and warm just like its people.

A city on the Gulf of Mexico that breaths salt and sand; a green and tropical land that enjoys multicolor sunsets, besides amazing starred skies.

An untold destination for those who like details from exquisite tastes and collect forever their flavors.
